Aimed at lower ability students or students seeing factorising for the first time. There is a lesson for the students and then a 'post it note' activity for students to complete. This can be done in a variety of different ways, but I but the post it notes in essential, excel and challenge piles and then students can come and collect the questions as they need them. They fill in the answer grid with the level of challenge and question number. Answers are also provided. There is a singing plenary to finish with and this is where students answer the questions on their mini whiteboards and when they get it right, it plays part of Glee for them.

This lesson is aimed at lower ability students or students that have not done rounding before. There is a complete lesson, with a main activity. The best way to do the main activity, is to cut the 'post if notes' and either stick them in groups (essential questions together, excel questions together etc) around the room, or put them in piles around the room. Students then get an answer grid that they fill in when they pick up a question and answer it. Students need to check what question number they are answering and which level of challenge to make sure they answer in the correct box. There is a tip sheet that can be printed and again put around the room for students wanting to complete to 1sf. Answers are provided and students can write a strength and target following on from that. There is a singing plenary to finish with. This is where students are asked a question, they are to answer it on their mini whiteboards, if they get the answer correct, part of family guy will play.

There are 4 sets of questions (Number, Algebra, Shape, Data) which are mainly A and A* (with some lower grade questions from topics which students struggle with, e.g. percentages, constructions). PLEASE REVIEW / COMMENT. Students work in pairs or small groups to answer the questions. When they finish a question they get it marked and if it is correct they are given cash to the value of the question. There are bank notes which you can put your school name and pictures of your teachers on. The team with the most money at the end could be given a prize.
