The Colour Monster Writing - Sequence and Retell the story emotions cut & paste

Based on the story ‘The Colour Monster’ by Anna Llenas

Color and Black and White printable.

Hand drawn pictures for the children to cut out, sequence, write about and colour in.

After reading the story, the children need to sequence the muddled up pictures to put the story back into the correct order.

To differentiate:

Support could cut out and sequence the pictures. The last page has the numbered answers which can stick next to the correct picture if they are unable to do the writing.
Core children can sequence and use the word bank to also write about the pictures.
More able children can sequence and write independently with given challenges such as ‘Include at least 3 time adverbials’.
Sequencing activities usually take a few sessions. Cut, order and stick the activities. Writing captions for the first half of the images Writing for the second half of the activities I usually ask the children to colour after they have met the objectives for that session and finish colouring in at the end.

Black and white and color printables. No colour ink needed!
