I cut up the answers and stick them all over the room, give the grid (A3) to the students and get them to move around filling it in. Gets them out of their seats and active, while providing them with them with a revision sheets
A series of resources including video, animation and whiteboard materials that address the skills, knowledge and understanding of how science works within the GCSE specifications. The theme of this unit is the generation of electricity and the focus is on the applications and implications of science.
These two worksheets are linked to the issues behind different power stations. The Three Gorges dam is a real article about how the dam is harming the structure of the river and makes for a good conversation on the proposed Severn Estuary dam. The Energy Crisis looks at the looming issue linked to the TV docu film called 'If the Lights go out'. Its also looks at Bias as one person talks about Carbon capture which is an idea rather than a real use and the lady talks about '2/3 of energy is waster' which is true but is true for all fossil fuel power stations and is a basic physics concept that you will loose energy during a transfer.
