Ensure your surds lessons go off with a bang using this stimulating activity, from alutwyche
What is it?
I love surds, but unfortunately not many of my students feel the same way. So, I am always on the lookout for new and engaging ways to practise this notoriously tricky topic. This activity provides just that.
The premise is simple. Pupils complete a series of exercise sheets, working backwards to fill in the gaps. Packed full of innovative questions and covering a range of key skills, surely there is no better way to consolidate learners’ knowledge.
How can it be used?
This activity is ideal for recapping the essentials. With some sheets containing multiple correct answers, why not encourage pupils to discuss their methodology as a class?
Stretch more-able students by challenging them to create their own questions, before swapping with a partner. If they can complete this, you can be confident that their understanding is secure.
