TES Maths Resource of the Week
What is it?
This detailed lesson from ever-popular author, Dr Frost, will ensure that your GCSE students have got to grips with all aspects of the topic of surds. It comes complete with everything you could possibly need, including an overview of how surds fit into the broader topic of number, clear notes on the relevant laws, worked examples and practice questions.
And if all that wasn't enough, you can also find support for each question in the form of so-called 'bro tips' and handy extension questions marked with a skull and crossbones.
How can it be used?
I have just one piece of advice for using Dr Frost's lessons: make sure you adapt them to suit the needs of your class! Dr Frost likes to challenge his students (you can hear him talking about his high-achieving pupils in this podcast), which means you might find a Year 7 lesson containing questions that your average Year 11 would struggle with. So, just as you would with any TES resource, check it over, identify the parts you need and build them into your own lesson.
