Recap the basics and challenge common misconceptions with these thought-provoking cards, from boothy380

What is it?

Looking to recap the basics of primary maths with your Year 7 and 8 classes, but struggling to find a stimulating activity? Never fear, this collection of “What went wrong?” cards is perfect for just that.

Presented with a series of scenarios, learners are challenged with spotting, explaining and correcting the common errors that have been made.  Ready to use and spanning across a variety of  topics, surely there is no better way to remove any lingering misconceptions pupils may have.

How can it be used?

These cards are ideal as lesson starter, or as part of a revision activity. Simply project a question onto the board and allow students to individually ponder the answer, before encouraging a wider-class discussion.

Once they are comfortable with the format, why not challenge learners to create their own questions? With so many key subject areas to cover, the possibilities are endless!
