Animal Classification Colouring/ Activity Sheets

Animal Classification Colouring/ Activity Sheets

This download includes 6 detailed and realistic colouring sheets, drawn by TheArtTA, 1 for each of the areas of animal classification used in primary science, birds, mammals, amphibians, invertebrates, reptiles and fish. There is also a teachers sheet listing the animals featured and possible uses for these sheets within a lesson. For example the range of animals can be a discussion starter, ( Why is a Dolphin on the mammals sheet?), or the pictures can be enlarged to make posters to decorate the classroom and pupils can research the animals featured. More than just a colouring sheet and great for engaging pupils in this topic.

Camouflage: Animal Adaptations - PowerPoint and Activities

Learn all about camouflage with this dynamic and animated PPT presentation. It’s a nonfiction resource full of information, photos, illustrations, videos, and fun facts. The presentation is designed for teachers, students, and parents. When it’s over, challenge the kids with some higher-level thinking activities devised to hone problem-solving skills. It works extremely well as an independent reading resource for iPads, iPhones, tablets, etc. The presentation can be read or viewed as an animated digital book. In this informative and engaging PowerPoint presentation you and your children will learn all about… What adaptations are Physical and behavioral adaptations with detailed examples of each Camouflage as a physical adaptation Two purposes of camouflage (to hide while searching for food; to hide to escape from becoming food). How camouflage evolved depending on the type of animal and its habitat Furry mammals employ different types of camouflage than aquatic ones. Four main types of camouflage adaptations Blending in or concealing Coloration – fur, scales, feathers, skin, etc. o Some animals change coloring depending on the seasons o Some can change their coloring quickly depending on their surroundings (chameleons, octopus, etc.) Disruptive coloration – stripes, spots, patterns, etc. Disguise, or appear like something else (walking stick, leafy sea dragon) Mimicry, some animals mimic different or more dangerous animals (some nonpoisonous snakes look like poisonous ones, some moths have designs on their backs that look like large eyes, etc.) Interesting facts and much more When the presentation is over have your kids expand on what they’ve learned with three higher-level thinking activities. This is a guide that goes along with the fun website Ask Mr. Universe. I just love this site, because it addresses questions sent in by young students and then answers them in good detail. The questions are so cute! Kids love reading the response from Mr. Universe! The website link for the page is embedded in the title page, for quick access. The product is a PDF (2 pages) and the web article (1-2 pages generally) is also included as a pdf for easy printing. I make many guides for Ask Mr. Univserse, so please check my store for more. ☀☀☀ PLEASE FOLLOW ME FOR NEW PRODUCT UPDATES ☀☀☀

Theory of Intelligent Design Lapbook

Theory of Intelligent Design Lapbook

If a man is walking through the woods and finds a perfectly-functioning pocket watch lying on a stump, does he assume that the random forces of nature placed all of the parts together in exactly the right places to form a sophisticated time-piece, or does he assume that a clock-maker has passed that way before? This question, posed by natural theologian William Paley circa 1802, has led to the modern study of intelligent design. What is the study of intelligent design? Where can a student find resources to understand this subject? This Lapbook on the Theory of Intelligent Design will introduce your students to this relatively new field of scientific study. Written by a homeschool mother, it includes an extensive Study Guide on the most up-to-date research, as well as templates and instructions to make the Lapbook. Each section includes suggested resources for further study, and there are links to videos and websites to further enhance learning. This Lapbook was designed for K-8th grade students, but younger students may require quite a bit of assistance with the cutting and assembling. Please also check out our Theory of Intelligent Design Lapbook Journal, designed for 6th -12th grade students. BOTH of these products use the SAME Study Guide so that your entire family may study this fascinating subject together.
