KS4 German: What should you be? Job quiz!

Fun independent activity for KS4 German. In lessons we covered jobs, personality words, and modal verbs: then students created a flowchart quiz using questions about personality and future plans (I used lucidchart.com to create mine!). They loved bringing in their flowcharts and doing each other's!

Jobs: German Vocabulary Card Sort

Jobs: German Vocabulary Card Sort

This is a card sort to help students learn words for jobs (40 words in total). They are presented in the masculine der form (to keep the design simple), however, this can easily be changed to the feminine form by adding -in at the end (any irregular forms are stated). This would be a useful task with younger groups or low ability groups. There are three separate files, depending on how you want to present the task.- The 'teacher copy' shows a grid with all items already matched. - The 'student version' is a random layout, print this out and give to students. They can then cut out the items and match them, or stick them into their workbooks.- The 'quick cut' is designed so that you can produce 10 packs of cards quickly and easily using a guillotine. Each page has the same card 10 times over. This allows you to remove words that may not be suitable or needed.

on the topic of work experience: two slides, with questions and answer frames, I printed and cut them out and got students to match them up, then write a roleplay from them. Other ppt also contains questions, and a plenary activity getting them to decide which question matches the answer. Word docs - writing or speaking about work experience, and shows q+A dialogue ideas. Excel sheet - vocab for describing work experience
