GCSE Physics - Scalar and Vector Quantities lesson plan, presentation and worksheet

GCSE Physics - Scalar and Vector Quantities lesson plan, presentation and worksheet

A fully featured lesson plan, presentation and worksheet that introduces students to scalar and vector quantities. They learn about magnitude and direction and classify different quantities as scalar or vector. The PPT then takes them through drawing magnitude arrows and then how to draw vector diagrams from this. The worksheet gives them plenty of practice at drawing simple vector diagrams. For more Physics resources see the rest of my resources at Grade Gain

Geometry Unit: KS2 Musical Curriculum

Geometry Unit: KS2 Musical Curriculum

What am I looking at? I've never seen something quite like this before. You are looking at a revolutionary, new way in which to approach the teaching of Geometry with your Year 3 - Year 6 students. Through the power off music's unique quality to lodge a message into our minds via the most frictionless of ways; a catchy melody; this holistic geometry program unlocks the gate that so often blocks the smooth transition of information from the teacher to the student. Your students will be more excited about the material, more confident in test preparation, and able to perform better when it counts!Concepts Covered:1. 3d Shapes2. Angles (measuring and identifying)3. Area and Perimeter4. Classifying Polygons5. Classifying Quadrilaterals6. Classifying Triangles7. Types of Lines8. Volume and Cubic UnitsEach concept covered comes with an original music video and includes:1. Fun Printable Game2. Animated Video3. MP 3Song File4. Illustrated Worksheets5. Creative Word Problems6. Printable Poster for Your Display7. Digital Poster for SmartBoard / Projector Use8. Short Quiz9. Vocabulary Reinforcement and More!Your geometry lessons will never be the same again after you employ the power of world-class educational music and professional animations to break the mercury off the engagement meter in your classroom. Watch the preview to get an idea of what to expect, and then realize that isn't even all there is. This developing geometry unit is so much more than just amazings songs and music videos! All 8 videos, which creatively approach individual math concepts applicable to Year 3 - Year 6 include; printable games, printable posters, worksheets, exit quizzes, word problems, lesson plans and more! Perhaps the most unique quality about our math music and accompanying activities is that it retains a "coolness factor", This is important because as you notice your top-performing students are a little more engaged and energized in the learning process than usual, you'll be observing some of your struggling learners picking up the concept with much less effort and frustration on your part. This is because of how the multi-sensory nature of our program stimulates a part of the child's brain where mere instruction and traditional teaching methods simply cannot. Thank you so much for your interest in NUMBEROCK. We hope we add something special to your teaching strategy.

Geometric Drawing and Invariance Vocabulary Wordsearch and Crossword.

Geometric Drawing and Invariance Vocabulary Wordsearch and Crossword.

This is a crossword and word search with further shape and measure vocabulary (covering drawing, constructions, symmetry and translations). It is aimed at higher tier students and would be useful as - revision- lesson starter - settling activity- cover work- end of term activity- extension task- literacy support for EAL or SEND students- literacy across the curriculum- assessment for learning or afl taskContains printable pdf and answers for the crossword and wordsearch. For differentiation I have included a wordsearch and a crossword using similar vocabulary. The wordsearch is easier. The learning objective is to introduce or revise shape and measure vocabulary in a fun and relaxing way. This activity could be used at the start of a topic to introduce key vocabulary by having students fill out as much as they can independently and then check their answers and fill in the gaps using the answer sheet provided. Once students have all the answers they can save the crossword to refer to during the course as a useful list of vocab and definitions. This would help students with dyslexia to spell the vocab correctly and would enable all students with high language needs to refer back to the definitions as required to allow them to access later lessons. After filling in the crossword students could be asked to annotate the crossword with examples or mnemonics for the vocab to aid understanding and recall. This activity could also be used for revision where students might complete several crosswords in a lesson or for homework. They would work at their own pace to identify areas where they need focus their revision. This activity is for teachers, tutors, special needs teachers, teaching assistants, after school club organizers and parents or students looking for revision activities.
