'How to Become a Successful TES Author - Step by Step Guide' - A 'Must Have' For Authors!

I began to produce educational resources for TES in August 2015. When I look back at my early resources I cringe! I made so many mistakes…. Since then I have come a long way and learned so much. I currently have 38 TES recommended resources. One of my resources made over 900 sales in the space of a few weeks and earned nearly £2000 in royalties. In this 26-page, step by step guide I share my mistakes and my successes to help you avoid making the same mistakes and to become a successful author sooner than you would have done without this guide. NPQSL Final Combined Task - completed 2016 - under new framework

NPQSL Final Combined Task - completed 2016 - under new framework

This assignment includes my: blood, sweat and tears! This is my NPQSL assignment and is focused on improving writing in a primary school. I really wish I'd had an NPQSL example assignment to look at while I was writing mine as it would have stopped me second guessing myself. However, I passed with flying colours and am now offering mine to you to make the process much easier. I uploaded the assignment on 8.2.16 and received feedback on 29.3.16. Feedback (as shown on first page) awarded all of the 9 competencies as passed at the required level. The written feedback was excellent and only includes strengths, no areas for development. I have deleted several appendices because they included photographic evidence of specific events/individuals. I would recommend that you consider doing this also as visuals are always a nice break from a lengthy piece of text. However, I have kept my action plan and report to the Headteacher in the appendices as I feel these are important for your reference. My resources always take me a lot of time and effort to create so I hope that they help to save you some precious time - please do review my resources. Thank you!A section from my written feedback:'Strengths were demonstrated in Delivering continuous improvement as your priorities for improvement were clearly linked to your vision for the project. You regularly reviewed progress and reflected on actions and achievements of pupils in writing. The Action plan and strategies were fully implemented and you skilfully monitored planning, teaching, learning and assessment data. Throughout the project you remained solution-focused. In terms of Modelling excellence in leadership of teaching and learning you demonstratedexcellent leadership of teaching and learning. You set up and embedded the writing initiatives and adapted the teaching and learning approaches to suit the needs of pupils. It is evident that you have high expectations, model excellence and vision and have shared ideas and practice very effectively. Staff have been provided with the clarity they need in order to feel empowered and accountable in their role. Strengths were demonstrated in Learning focus as you set up and embedded the writing initiative and applied theory and knowledge of learning to improve outcomes for pupils. It is evident that you are committed to learning and achieving excellence and led valuable inset for staff to improve their subject knowledge in grammar, planning and writing. '

Set Theory (Part 1) An Introduction

Set Theory (Part 1) An Introduction

This unit is an excellent demonstration of how to supplement a textbook, bringing into sharp relief the essential aspects of a mathematical topic. All but one document present original content; the exception is a page linking the content to the examples and practice of a specific textbook.Set theory is studied as part of the middle years program (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate (IBO.org), and is prior learning for its diploma program (DP). It is featured to a lessor extent in the GCSE, IGCSE and A Level syllabi. The concepts are essential preparation for those who will study mathematics at the tertiary level, and for those preparing for international competitions. This resource includes over 20 planning and student handouts developed for a ten lesson sequence (50 minutes per lesson) introducing set theory. The student experience of each lesson is focused around exploring a list of mastery targets that encapsulate the skills and meanings of the mathematical content. The mastery targets colour every aspect of each unit's planning and are explicitly reflected in each activity, from the pre-assessment to the final project. The course materials create multiple opportunities for students to assess their progress towards the skills and understanding encapsulated in the mastery targets. The use of sample pages, rubrics and checklists make explicit the actions needed for success. The unit documents include:- Lesson Plan Sequence- List of Mastery Targets- Pre-Assessments- Key Vocabulary - Two Unit Assessments- Five Activities - Student Project- Project Rubric- Prior Learning- Mindset- Sample Student Page : Graphic Organiser - Sample Student Page: Mastery TargetsThe mathematical content includes:- Well-Defined Sets- Roster Notation- Set Builder Notation- Set Equality- Cardinality- Finite & Infinite Sets- Number SetsSet Theory (Part 2) Set Operations will focus on subsets, basic set operations and venn diagrams.
