Wordsearch on the theme of 'Malta'. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. Fun with Flags, A Geographical Challenge

This activity is designed for used as a starter or plenary in a Geography/Humanities lesson. Students are given an image of a national flag and asked to research/select correct country from a list of 20. A correct answer allows access to next question an incorrect answer defaults to the menu slide. There are 6 sets of 10 questions relating to 6 different regions of the world. For maximum effect they should be used on an interactive board or large screen display. Hyperlinks are embedded throughout the presentation for ease of navigation. The whole presentation contains 123 slides.
