Ich bin online Quiz Quiz Trade Style

Having never used Quiz Quiz Trade cards before, I did a quick HOW TO Google search today, modified the layout slightly and made my first ever (simple) resource! It’s targeted at year 7 German to go with Stimmt 1 Kapitel 3 for questioning and speaking. There is an Excel and Word Document available in case you need to edit or add more easily. Instructions: Word Doc Print the document and slice along each row (might need to duplicate for a bigger class) Give one each to students and ask them to fold the German section over. Students walk around and say the question to another student in TL (with or without looking at questions for differentiation) If the partner doesn’t understand they can ask for the question to be repeated/the German version to be shown/the English version to be shown, but they must answer in German as best as they can. If the person asking the questions believes they have replied correctly, repeat step 3 and 4 with the other person asking their question. If this partner answers correctly, swap cards physically over, move around and repeat steps 3-5 with someone else. Feel free to modify and use however you like. This is just how I’m using it.

End of term puzzle Stimmt 1 unit 3 Zeit fur Freizeit

This is a tarsia puzzle to practise vocab from chapter 3 in Stimmt 1 (hobbies and sport) A tarsia consists of puzzle pieces that the students cut out and then match words to form a certain shape (ideally students don’t know what shape that is). They will quickly realise their mistakes if the puzzle won’t fit together. Great activity for Friday afternoons, cover lessons or end of term. This download includes: sheets for students with jumbled up puzzle pieces, an answer sheet for the teacher in list form and one showing the shape. If the print quality of the student slide isn’t good enough, use the attached pdf file.

This is a 2 hours lesson in preparation for the writing test at the end of unit 2 Zeit fuer Freizeit from the new Stimmt GCSE 9-1 book. Pupils will practise tenses and more complicated structures (if clauses, ich freue mich darauf, comparatives and superlatives) in a carousel of activities including translation from German and into German. All leading to the writing task about "celebrations and festivals". A fab chunked preparation for the translation and the writing task.

German: Paris Attacks Listening

After the attacks in Paris on the 13th November, a German singer/songwriter has gone viral with his peace song written in the aftermath of the attacks. The listening activities link to youtube, there is a gapfill to complete for both an interview with the singer and for his song. The video for the song shows the lyrics, so you might not want to have the video visible for the gap fill. This is not a complete lesson, just something you could use with your class.
