Flight test engineers lesson plan

Flight test engineers lesson plan

In Flight Test Engineers, students will learn how to make, test and fly their paper aeroplanes. The lesson focuses on developing students’ understanding of how to carry out a ‘fair test’ and forces to explain the motion of their paper planes. Students share their ideas about how different wing shapes lead to different forms of flight. They make a prediction and plan a test, make and record measurements, and present and evaluate their results.

LP Records Music History Wordsearch Language Starter Settler Activity Homework Cover Lesson

LP Records Music History Wordsearch Language Starter Settler Activity Homework Cover Lesson

Wordsearch on the theme of 'LP Records'. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

Chronological Order (Basic Chronology Activities)

Chronological Order (Basic Chronology Activities)

The PPT is simple and has the images of the "Events - Chronological" to use as a starter and get responses from students. There is also a slide of famous "pop" musicians from different times Then there is a slide that has the images of "Music Chronological" which asks the students to arrange the method for listening to music in chronological order. I have had students attempt this on the board after they have attempted it on the sheet. Many students do not even recognise the items. I suggest labelling them with your class before an attempt if they or you are unsure.
