No et moi - an introduction to the book - the author - synopsis - influences - historical context

In this bundle, you will find a huge range of activities to help you start teaching the book. This bundle is designed to help your students understand who is the author, what the book is about, what influenced the author to write this book and what is the historical context in France that lead to the writing of this book. This bundle will help prepare for part 2 which will be on themes, characters, genre and the style of the author (this bundle will be for sale shortly). Y10 or Y11 class. Highly differentiated resource with challenge and support sheets (see attached worksheet). Students will learn key vocabulary related to the topic of environment and then use this vocabulary using il faut and il ne faut pas. Students will then have to understand key environmental issues and come up with their solution in a writing tasks. Mini-plenaries and plenaries to monitor students progress.

French - Protect the environment display lesson

This is a presentation for an alternative curriculum day. Any age group can do it, but you would need to adjust the end task to make it harder for older pupils. I used this with pupils from high-ability Year 7 up to Year 9. Pupils are introduced to the vocab needed for the display (switch off lights, put rubbish in the bin, etc).

French - Changing the world

This PPT introduces pupils to vocab about changing the planet (e.g. 'I'm going to do charity work'). To start with, pupils identify what 3 texts are about using clues. Then, introduce the new vocab to pupils and then they fill in the gaps in the sentences and then match them to the English.
