World Cup 2018 French authentic reading resource / quiz

World Cup 2018 French authentic reading resource / quiz

I have compiled ‘Fact files’ in French on 6 Francophone players (1 from each Francophone country in the World Cup.) I have also written a huge quiz based on these fact files, plus a list of the teams and the timetable of the knock out rounds. The documents should be copied and given out to students in groups of 3/4 and they can use the information to answer the questions. Most questions are in English, with 8 in French at the end. 80 marks in total! Should keep students quiet for an hour Students could then create their own fact file on players of their choice similar to these. All information is authentic - from yahoo.fr / French Wikipedia / L’Equipe online. All documents are in Word so can be edited. Answers included. Suitable for KS3 / KS4 French Please provide feedback. I’m charging a small fee as several hours of work went into these resources.

Slide 5 introduces key vocabulary and can be used with the matching cards. The students should work in pairs/ groups to match the vocabulary and the picture using their previous knowledge, cognates and a process of elimination. The creative challenges are presented on slides 45 and 46, this is to either create an acrostic, a calligramme or a poem (there is a poem template provided). This information is also on the accompanying worksheets. Slide 47 provides the opportunity for reflection. I really hope you and your students enjoy these resources!

Les Jeux Olympiques d'hiver 2018 / Olympic Games 2018

This is a resource for students to learn about this year's Winter Olympics by going to specific Internet sites. The questions are entirely in French, so some support may be needed, possibly an opportunity for students to use a dictionary. There are 15 questions giving a total of 25 marks. Answers require that the students look around the site - they are not all right in their faces! Once they've logged on, done the quiz and marked it, I reckon this would take at least half an hour! IMPORTANT - the answers are on the third page. I would insist on complete accuracy!!!
