This lesson looks at area problems and more complex examples that are the type of questions that get asked in exams. 17 slides + a great practise worksheet with answers. The lesson includes: Starter - a quick question on integrating with bounds to focus students on integrating skills again Learning Objectives - differentiated by outcome Key Notation - explanation and detail given as this is often an area of confusion Teaching slides showing the process and some of the problems that come with area problems. How to find the bounds and issues when questions do not involve an area bound by the x-axis. It comes with several excellent examples and teaching slides. AFL questions and activities for students to check understanding An excellent worksheet with ANSWERS. Plenary - a quick review and feedback on learning during the lesson before going further into more areas of integration. NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more excellent free and premium lessons and as always please RATE and FEEDBACK, thank you!

#### Algebra: Integration 2 - Finding an Area (+ worksheet)

This is the second lesson that I teach on integration and follows on from the introductory lesson. It does practise basic integration, but now puts it into the context of finding the originial equation and mainly finding an area under a curve. 25 slides + a great practise worksheet with answers. The lesson includes: Starter - a quick question on area to get students occupied as they come in and thinking Learning Objectives - differentiated by outcome Key Notation - explanation and detail given as this is often an area of confusion Teaching slides showing the process of integrating and substituting to find an original equation and some superb graphics and slides to teach about the area under the curve. It comes with lots of examples. AFL questions and activities for students to check understanding An excellent worksheet with ANSWERS. Added a fair simpler worksheet for the less able or to set for homework as practise of the basics. Also a handout to remind pupils of some of the index rules they might encounter Plenary - a quick review and feedback on learning during the lesson before going further into more complex area problems involving integration. NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more excellent free and premium lessons and as always please RATE and FEEDBACK, thank you!

#### Algebra: Integration 1 - An Introduction (+ resources)

This is one of my favourite lessons to teach and the activity is one of the reasons. This is a whole lesson introducing the topic of integration. 25 slides. The lesson includes: Starter - a quick question on differentiation to get the brain working and to remind students the process of differentiation Learning Objectives - differentitated by outcome Key Words and Notation - a lot of explanation and detail given as this is often an area of confusion Teaching slides showing the process of differentiation and how integration is the opposite (often print these of as handouts for pupils. Teaching slides on +C making it really clear what it is and its importance Several superb and very clear teaching examples AFL activity for students to check understanding An excellent and really challenging matching activity. This comes with an accompanying handout on index rules as this is half the key battle. Includes ANSWERS. Added a fair simpler worksheet for the less able or to set for homework as practise. Plenary - a quick review and feedback on learning during the lesson before going further into more complex integration. Last time I taught this we ended up doing two lessons before moving on from the feedback as pupils were not confident enough on the basic skills NOT of integration but index rules. One of my responses was to to develop the handout with rules for support and guidance. #### Integration – Definite Integrals – Math Puzzle

Integration – Definite Integrals – Math Puzzle I’ve included two different sizes of the same puzzle. The smaller size is only two pages and it great if you are going to print of individual copies for students to practice with in class or at home. The larger size requires 8 pieces of paper and quite a bit of space to solve – fun for centers and group work! Cut out the puzzle pieces (or even better if your students do it themselves) and students are to solve the puzzle so that it matches the solution provided. If your students are going to cut out the pieces then no prep is needed – the puzzle is not in order. I’ve been using these puzzles for years with great success! I recommend printing the puzzles on colourful paper and laminating them. This way you only have to cut them out once and they will last year after year! What is included in this product? • The solution to the puzzle – Pages 3 – 4 • The normal size puzzle – Pages 5 – 6 • The large size puzzle – Pages 7 – 14 • Expressions and Answers in a table format for easy grading or you can cut these out to play a matching game – Pages 15 – 16 My students love doing these types of puzzles. This product can also be used as a perfect revision of the school work to do at home. All answers can be easily checked thanks to the included solution to the puzzle or questions and answers shown in a table. Thank you for checking my resources.
