This is a powerpoint covering basic calculus for GCSE. It contains brief notes by way of an explanation, model answers to questions and a question or two for the students to do; all of the questions come with answers that you can display when ready. The slide show comes with a progress grid (regularly referred to in the presentation) so that students can mark their progress from start to finish and pinpoint any areas that may need extra work with a “red/amber/green” system that they fill in; each one is given an approximate grade in both new (2017 onwards) and old system in England. It’s what I use in my lessons before setting tasks from worksheets or text books to practise.

This PDF contains 65 chapters, each containing explanations, worked examples and exercises. There is a Solutions section after the lesson chapters with worked solutions to each exercise. It is not intended as a standalone book but instead should augment other literature and learning resources you may be using. Remember, you can never do too much maths. We have adopted an informal tone whilst retaining appropriate nomenclature and detail where necessary. Throughout the chapters, where appropriate, we have included exercises aimed at students doing Further Maths. Some of these are complete, new chapters such as Matrices (Chapter. 57). Others are simply additional exercises within existing GCSE topics that we have extended to incorporate the Further Maths syllabus. In either case they are designed to challenge you and allow you to experience the transition from the Higher tier to the next level. This has been exported from an iBook copy (available on iBooks) and unfortunately as such the chapter hyperlinks do not work.
