'How to Become a Successful TES Author - Step by Step Guide' - A 'Must Have' For Authors!

'How to Become a Successful TES Author - Step by Step Guide' - A 'Must Have' For Authors!

I began to produce educational resources for TES in August 2015. When I look back at my early resources I cringe! I made so many mistakes…. Since then I have come a long way and learned so much. I currently have 38 TES recommended resources. One of my resources made over 900 sales in the space of a few weeks and earned nearly £2000 in royalties. I have recently been shortlisted as one of eight nominees for the TES 2017, Bev Evans, Author of the Year Award. In this 26-page, step by step guide I share my mistakes and my successes to help you avoid making the same mistakes and to become a successful author sooner than you would have done without this guide. I do not claim to have all the answers and ‘my way’ might not be other people’s way. However, whether you are a potential author, an author starting out or already an author; I am sure that this guide can help you in some way and will prove a worthwhile investment. The guide includes advice on Making resourcesMaximising the selling potential of resourcesCreating a cover pageSourcing imagesCopyrighting your resourcesPricing your resourcesProduct DescriptionsHTML codes for creating bold, italics, underlining, bullet pints and numbered lists for product description pageAdding links to other products and your shop in descriptionsCreating your TES shopBrandingIncreasing the visibility of your resourcesPromoting your products through social media platformsPromoting yourselfDealing with reviewsGeneral advice The resource also contains hyperlinks to some very useful sites and tools which will help you in making and promoting your products.Other Resources for AuthorsAuthor Calendar and Planner Nine out of ten of my top selling resources are seasonal resources and special days resources. My everyday resources are my 'bread and butter' resources; my seasonal resources are truly the icing on my cake! Plan your seasonal resources with this calendar and planner which contains all the major special days and awareness days for the whole year. No more missing special days or not allocating yourself enough time to produce resources. Days that change in date each year are highlighted red; days that are fixed are black.TES Author Excel Sales and Accounts Tracker

Basic Excel Calculations for Beginners

Basic Excel Calculations for Beginners

This resource is for those that are new to Microsoft Excel and want to quickly learn and practice using calculations in Excel. The spreadsheet has a number of different sheets within it that have clear instructions and practice exercises to use for yourself or your learners to quickly master basic concepts.I have used this to teach students and workplace learners with much success.Covers addition, subtraction, multiplication and division on sheet 1. Sheet 2 has Autosum and subsequent sheets practice using these with common spreadsheets such as invoices and profit and loss scenarios. Simply give learners a copy of this spreadsheet and work through together or let them try by themselves.

Complaint Resolution using the TACTICS method

Complaint Resolution using the TACTICS method

This worksheet uses the acronym TACTICS to work through a step by step process to handle a complaint from a customer. This is an important aspect of customer service. Once the learner has reviewed the process, it is a good idea to have the class separate into groups and role play various complaints scenarios using this method.I have used this successfully with a Business training class. They enjoyed it and it worked well.
