(Animal Agriculture) Egg Industry Predicts Cages won't go away by 2025

The egg industry is under high pressure to go to cage free shell egg production by 2025. Producers don’t think this change will happen. Read about current hen housing and examine hen numbers. Read this article and complete the student guide to consider this topic in more detail. The article is 2 pages long with lots of charts and good graphics. The guide is a 3 page PDF and has students look at the graphs, as well as read the article for more information. Finally, students write an opinion reflection on the topic, which addresses several key questions the article raises. This would take about 25 minutes. Thanks for looking! Main - Preparatory Knowledge This section provides the preparatory knowledge required by students to participate in the activities and forms roughly the first half of the full lesson. The resources provided introduce students to the idea of climate change as a political and social issue, encouraging them to consider how international cooperation and government policy can impact the way climate change is managed. Activity 1: Climate Change Debate This activity builds on the preparatory knowledge and sees students working in teams to debate two statements: 'The UK is doing enough about climate change’ and ‘Responsibility for tackling climate change should lie with individuals, not governments’ Activity 2: Climate Change Game Building on the preparatory knowledge, a simplified version of a game developed by James Copestake and Tom Ellum, this activity sees students work in teams representing country groups to explore climate catastrophe as a possible outcome from an environmental ‘tragedy of the commons’. If you have any questions or feedback, please send this to [info@fantasyfrontbench.com] Fantasy Frontbench is a not-for-profit organisation, which aims to present political information in a format that is engaging and accessible. Princess Anne Wordsearch Puzzle Sheet Keywords Settler Starter Cover Lesson British Royal Family

Princess Anne Wordsearch Puzzle Sheet Keywords Settler Starter Cover Lesson British Royal Family

Wordsearch Puzzle sheet on the theme of ‘Princess Anne’. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!
