Multiplicative Counting (GCSE 9-1)

Multiplicative Counting (GCSE 9-1)

I pushed my Year 11 set one a little bit to try some of the harder GCSE 9-1 questions on this topic where they needed to decide whether they were permutations or combinations & needed to be divided by 2 (very basic with only 2 variables). They at no time use combinations - we just extended the counting principle for different 'choices'. They struggled to know when to divide when reading the question so I made some new ones up for additional practice. These are a mixture of general counting principle, combinations & permutations. Answers included. Please let me know if any of them need fixing/changing for clarity.

THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME - STUDY BOOKLET

THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME - STUDY BOOKLET

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a 2003 mystery novel by British writer Mark Haddon. Haddon and The Curious Incident won the Whitbread Book Awards for Best Novel and Book of the Year, the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book, and the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize. Unusually, it was published simultaneously in separate editions for adults and children. This STUDY BOOKLET had been designed to challenge the grammatical knowledge and punctuation skills of year 7/8 pupils. It has a clear format and has been created to compliment the shared reading of the book. Also included are some NUMBER PUZZLES that feature in the book. This work can be presented as individual, group, whole-class or homework assignments. The Study Booklet can be used as a ‘Stand Alone’ resource as the book is not needed to complete it.

Maths Zone - Mathematical Reasoning for ages 9+ years

Maths Zone - Mathematical Reasoning for ages 9+ years

The Maths Zone series is designed to add some fun to the traditional strands of the mathematics curriculum by presenting challenging activities and humorous problems to students in a meaningful context. The worksheets are a mix of traditional algorithms and puzzle sheets and are completely original in nature, offering the novelty of a new approach. Classroom teachers and remedial teachers will find this book to be a valuable mathematical resource. Activities can be used as early finisher tasks, whole class lessons, practice and consolidation tasks or as small group challenges. All activities are linked to relevant mathematics outcomes. Mathematical Reasoning contains sections covering logical reasoning, equations, Venn diagrams and other problem solving strategies. Also included are challenging games and activities that explore a variety of mathematical concepts that are based on versions of popular everyday games such as Dominoes, Bingo and calculator activities. This is a Photocopy Master ebook (56 pages) and activity pages may be photocopied for use in the classroom. Our ebooks are in pdf format. Edubooks is an imprint of Ready-Ed Publications. Casio Classwiz Video Guides for 2017 ALevel Maths (9 Videos)

Casio Classwiz Video Guides for 2017 ALevel Maths (9 Videos)

A set of 9 videos showing you and your students how to use their new Casio Classwiz calculator for the new 2017 ALevel Maths. The videos cover: Quadratic Inequalities Quadratic Equations The Normal Distribution The Trapezium Rule The Binomial Distribution Summary Statistics (Mean, Variance, SD etc) from a list of data Summary Statistics (Mean, Variance, SD etc) from a table of data Curve Fitting for exponential (new in 2017 spec) Using the Classwiz when curve sketching There is a small charge as these took me some time to create. If (when?) I make more of them I'll update this download so you get those for no extra charge. By purchasing and downloading this set of videos you have permission to share them with the students at your establishment. If you wish to publish them on your schools VLE rather than just using them in class it would be nice if you purchased the 'schools licence' from TES, as this is fair on my time and your use. Hope someone finds these useful.
