Judaism Exodus and Passover, Pesach festival

Judaism Exodus and Passover, Pesach festival

This lesson has a fun starter that is nearly impossible to do - it's a translation of some Hebrew words. It's more there to expose them to the language than anything else - Get practicing your pronunciation. The main body of the lesson explores the story of the exodus (5 min video) and looks then at the seder meal and its importance within Judaism. The activity can be assisted with text books and set as homework

Jewish Food Laws

Jewish Food Laws

I have added 2 PPTs - one is shortened for the lower ability students (LA). The other is much longer and has loads of information. It could easily be cut down to make it shorter. I have also added a simple fun activity and a great resource for lower ability students which guides their learning slide by slide. Although this was written for a KS3 group, it could easily be adapted for KS4 Judaism Practices Unit.

RE GCSE AQA Judaism Beliefs - L1 Intro and the Nature of God part 1

RE GCSE AQA Judaism Beliefs - L1 Intro and the Nature of God part 1

This is the first lesson in the Judaism Beliefs section of the course. It covers some basic information on Judaism as a world faith and then goes through the first parts of knowledge - G-d as the creator and G-d as one. I have included a key terms sheet, homework task (and the answers) as well and also a handout which i used for lower ability groups (or SEN students) who can't take as many notes as others. They can stick them in and annotate if you like. There is also stretch and challenge opportunities in here which may or may not be appropriate for your groups.
