This easy to use worksheet is the perfect start to a lesson to discuss La Pascua. It can be used as a starter or plenary to open a discussion about Spain´s traditions for Semana Santa.
Students must find different words relating to La Pascua in the word search looking for them across, vertically, horizontally and diagonally. Some letters may be used twice to suit two words, so please let your students know that if that’s the case.
It shouldn’t take students more than 10 minutes to complete and if you’d like to expand the activity you could always explain why these words are specific to La Pascua. For example the meaning of los huevos pintados or an explanation of the religious side of things that Spanish people consider important regarding this holiday.
You will get a PDF copy of the word search with ANSWERS included. I’ve made sure there is a black and white version as well as a coloured one depending on your printer.
For any queries please email me at: spanish_learning@yahoo.com
This booklet is aimed at KS3 students in order to get familiar with some Easter vocabulary. The booklet has 15 different activities and includes a vocab page. Answers not provided.
I have attached the pdf and the ppt so it is easily editable as well.
This is an Editable Spanish Easter Quiz with 50 QUESTIONS that will take your students through the cultural aspects of Semana Santa and test their knowledge on the holiday.
The quiz has 5 rounds (verdadero/falso, multiple choice, fill in the blank, translations + ¿Qué hay en la foto?) and they cover different aspects of La Pascua such as traditions, celebrations and food.
Each question has an automatic 45s timer and students get an answer sheet to write down their answers. The quiz can be done individually but also in teams to encourage some healthy competition!
WHAT YOU GET:
*1 PowerPoint with the quiz, student instructions and answers included which you can edit however you like. If you want to add questions or change the text size you can! Make sure to press enable editing and enable content for the videos (timers) to work before you start presenting.
*1 Answer sheet to print for each student or team.
Any feedback on the quiz would be greatly appreciated! There is also an additional bundle on my shop with different activities around Semana Santa if you´d like to spend more time on the topic!

All resources needed for the lesson are included in the price. They are in the zip file. These are:
5 page PDF Lesson Plan

This reading has two paragraphs. The first one is written from the first-person perspective of a teenage girl living in Sevilla, Spain during Holy Week and discusses how she and her family are celebrating.
The second paragraph discusses the various holidays around this period including Ash Wednesday, Lent, Easter Sunday etc.
The reading includes a glossary of specialized Easter vocabulary and 6 reading comprehension questions in Spanish.

This a bundle of activities to celebrate La Pascua suitable for KS3 and lower ability groups at KS4. If you’re looking for activities that will take your students through the 4 core skills of Spanish, this bundle is for you!
It includes the following activities:
Highlighter race
Vocab match up
Categorisation of nouns, adjectives, and verbs relating to Semana Santa
Mindreader/Bingo
2x Translation Pyramids (1x in Spanish, 1x in English)
Writing Task (has an extra vocab sheet with sentence starters/key words)
Listening Task (no audio provided - teacher must read aloud and students fill in the gaps)
Reading Tasks (Q&A and translation of a text)
Speaking Task (survey-like exercise)
Crossword (PDF non-editable)
Word search (PDF (non-editable)
The activities have teacher instructions where needed, in the notes section of each slide in the PPT. Answers are also provided for all tasks except the speaking task, translation pyramid, writing task, and highlighter race. The reason for this is the nature of these activities and the subjectivity of some tasks. To help with these though, students are provided with a vocab sheet. I also encourage the use of dictionaries as well, just in case.
Please note this is not a lesson but a series of activities for you to pick from for each of your classes. You might want to dedicate more or less time to talking about Semana Santa but whichever task you choose, students will be able to work on them with the support provided in the vocab sheet.
All tasks except the crossword and word search are in a PPT format so they can be edited to your liking :)
If you purchase this bundle and are happy with the resources, I’d be really grateful if you could leave a review with any feedback!
