With few revision papers available for use this is another 19th Century Fiction Paper based on the novel 'Lost Hearts' by M R James. the resource includes a mark scheme and indicative content. This extract is a ghostly tale and a good one to use for analysis of tension/setting rather than characterisation. This is a very accessible paper and would be useful practise for both KS3 students doing a 'Supernatural' Unit of work or for KS4 lower ability to build confidence.

This lesson introduces students to the fundamental differences between 'features' and 'components' in Media texts and asks them to analyse the 'Where's Klaus' Internet Safety advert. This lesson worked really well as a successful interview lesson for Middle Leadership, it would equally work well for a Media Studies lesson or a PSHE lesson on Internet Safety. Students are asked to engage with the advert using stills and differentiated questions. When I taught this lesson I also got students to mark their start 'grade' on a timeline (most said they would have thought they'd get a 2/3 at first) and then ask them to review this twice more during the lesson.....this simple method was highly successful in showing the 'outstanding progress'achieved during the lesson for all students.

A study of Act 5 of Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'. This is designed for GCSE teaching and includes a range of activities to engage students. The lesson also includes slides on structural devices used within the play (as a key component to achieving a grade 5 or above) and whole text revision activities at the end of the powerpoint.

This powerpoint covers the latter chapters of Book 1 of this new GCSE text. The powerpoint contains a number of engaging activities to ensure full comprehension of the text as you read and activities to begin to construct revision pages on the themes contained in this text. This lesson uses a paper thematically linked to 'Space' and takes students through a series of leading questions in order to help them break down the methods they can use to approach this final question on the Non Fiction paper. It also includes reference to PALS as a method of talking about authors ideas and perspectives. My year 11 group found this lesson enormously clarifying as a revision lesson.
