Students practice solving one step, two step and multi-step one variable equations with integer answers. Great for review and practice as well as targeted intervention for struggling learners. Students cut apart and shuffle dominoes and then draw an equal number for their hand. The student with the start places that domino first and then students solve the equations in their hands to see who can place the next domino. Student who uses all their dominoes wins. Students gain proficiency at identifying formulas for Arithmetic Sequences with this matching card set. Students work in pairs or individually to match sequences to their specific recursive formula. Included are 18 pairs of matching cards, one side has a sequence of numbers and the other half have recursive formulas. Matching cards can be used in a variety of ways, use as flash cards, as exit tickets, or as a game of war or concentration.

Students work to identify the discriminant of a quadratic equation then collaborate with other students to check their work and check for errors. I use a timer to keep students on task, and when timer goes off, students break up into groups in each of the 4 corners with students of same worksheet to discuss problems, compare answers and check for errors. When time is up, students return to their home groups. This is a kagan strategy which works great to increase discourse in the math classroom.

Using a kagan strategy, students work in their home groups to find the missing side of a missing right triangle using the pythagorean theorem. When they are finished, they use the symbol on top of their worksheet to form a new group in one of four corners to compare answers, discuss errors and get additional help if needed. They then return to their home group to correct errors and finish activity. Included is 4 versions of a worksheet and 3 versions of an exit ticket to use as an assessment, or even a review at a later time. Answer keys are included for all.

Great activity to use in small groups, pairs or as an activity in stations. I print the cards, cut them out and laminate for repeated use. Then students identify key points on the graph and match the four pieces together. The four pieces to these mini puzzles are quadratic equation , axis of symmetry , x and y intercepts and graphed parabola.
