Students practice descriptive adjectives and the verbs ser and tener playing the fun Guess Who board game in Spanish! This is a concise alphabetized reference of 31 bilingual Spanish/English vocabulary words and phrases needed for the game. Just ask students to bring in their Guess Who games and these handy reference sheets will allow them to play using the traditional games in the English box.
Students learn French vocabulary associated with Ramadan in a fun, hands on way with these 2 emergent reader booklets. Each contains 8 pages: the title page with 7 additional pages. One contains text and images, and the other contains text only so students can sketch and create their own versions of the booklets. The vocabulary included is: mosque, Koran, praying, lantern, prayer mat, crescent and star, and fasting. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page.
Students first cut, assemble and read the booklet containing text and images. They then sketch and create their own versions with the text only template.
The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the vocabulary words. The text only version can be projected onto the Smart Board and students can draw pictures on the Smart Board that correspond to the text.

Spanish Clothing Fashion Show - La Ropa - Desfile de Moda - Student groups take turns introducing each other, telling likes, desires for the future including profession and describing clothing worn by each group member model. Included in the download: 1. Fashion show instructions 2 per page for paper saving student handouts. 2. Students practice common singular and plural Spanish adjectives, comparatives, and superlative adjectives by completing 3 columns containing 23 different adjectives. There are 2 different versions of practice sheets, plus an answer key. Both practice sheets containing 4 columns as follow:

4. superlativo
On one practice sheet, students supply the Spanish adjective, the Spanish comparative adjective, and the Spanish superlative adjective.
On the other practice sheet, students supply the English adjective, the Spanish comparative adjective, and the Spanish superlative adjective.
Also included is a completed chart answer key.
Sample adjectives include bonito, feo, triste, feliz, extraña, malo, and rubio.

Students write a letter to Santa that explains their behavior and tells him what gifts they would like him to bring. There are 48 vocabulary words in Spanish and English to assist students in their letter writing. Included are words about behavior and many gift vocabulary words such as cell phone, clothes (there are 17 clothing words), books, toys, video games, skis, etc. The quantity and variety of vocabulary makes it easy for students to complete their writing assignments and makes this item useful for all levels of Spanish. A one hundred word essay works well for first year students. The word count can be changed for other levels and varying ability levels.
French Christmas Crossword Worksheet and Vocabulary - This Christmas crossword puzzle contains 24 clues for common Christmas vocabulary words, plus 8 clip art images.

Students practice Spanish speaking countries and capitals in a fun way! This PowerPoint Jeopardy game contains all 20 official Spanish speaking countries, plus countries and territories where Spanish is still widely spoken, or where there has been significant Spanish influence in the past. They include Puerto Rico, Andorra, Guam, Philippines, and Gibraltar. The 5 categories are North America A, North America B, South America, South America and Africa, and Potpourri. Students click a number under one of the categories and a country will appear. The next click displays the capital city, the point value, and a house that can be clicked to return to the game board. The previously clicked questions are highlighted to show students that they have already been used. There are 2 randomly placed "Sorpresa" slides that double the points of the next conjugation, if answered correctly. This is a no prep activity that can be modified to suit your purposes in your classroom.
Also included are 2 slides that can be printed and given to students to complete while they are in the audience. Each contains a shell of the game board with the categories at the top and the point value in each cell. As participants choose their questions, the students in the audience can write the country and the corresponding capital city.

Your students will love this inquiry based web assignment in which they explore the Spanish department store El Corte Ingles. There are 18 questions or tasks for them to complete, including 2 simple sketches of items that they find on one of the web pages. The majority of the questions deal with clothing and accessories, but there are also a couple questions about electronics and currency to add variety to the activity. The website is entirely in Spanish. Students are instructed to supply answers in Spanish and English. This is a fun activity for partner or individual work and is a great way to incorporate technology, culture, and language into a lesson. Students can use computers, iPads, or other devices, and this makes a perfect self paced substitute lesson plan.
Most questions should apply regardless of changes on the Corte Ingles website. Since there could be changes that would change the answers, however, an answer key has not been included.

Spanish Greetings, Leave Takings and Basics Vocabulary Reference - This presentation and student reference includes 40 vocabulary words and phrases to teach or review basic greetings, leave takings, introductions, courtesies, basic questions/responses like how are you/I'm well, thanks, What's you name?, How old are you? etc. Accent marks and the silent h have different color font to highlight these from the very first time that students see them.
