Rob Grimshaw named as CEO of TES Global

TES Global, the global digital education business, today announced that Chief Operating Officer (COO) Rob Grimshaw is to become its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on March 31, 2015. At the same time, current CEO Louise Rogers will step up to take on the role of Chair. The new leadership team will bring together the best of European digital and content knowledge, supported by TPG Capital’s online and education expertise, as the company begins its next phase of accelerated global growth.

TES Global is dedicated to supporting and enabling the world’s teachers with a portfolio of tailored services, tools and technology. The business has made a successful transition to digital and now hosts the world’s biggest single-profession online network of almost 7 million teachers, where users access over 800,000 resources developed for teachers by teachers. It is also the UK’s leader in education recruitment and the home of the THE and TES Magazine.

Rob Grimshaw joined TES Global in November 2014 as COO. He moved from the Financial Times where he worked for 16 years. In the role of Managing Director of, he was responsible for its successful digital strategy, the implementation of FT’s industry leading digital subscription business model, as well as its print subscription business and FT events. Under his leadership the FT’s digital subscriptions increased to 455,000, making up two-thirds of its total paying audience.

Louise Rogers joined TES Global in 2005 as Managing Director and became Chief Executive Officer in 2009. As Chair she will continue to support the TES Global management team, help implement strategy and act as an influential global advocate for the business globally.

Rob Grimshaw joined TES Global as Chief Operating Officer in November 2014. Before this Rob worked at the Financial Times for 16 years and from 2008 Rob held the position of Managing Director, In this capacity, Rob led the development of the FT’s successful digital business. He was also responsible for the FT’s events business, print subscriptions and its New York Institute of Finance professional development business. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy & Politics from the University of Warwick.
