TSL Education, the digital education company and publisher of the Times Educational Supplement (TES) and Times Higher Education (THE), celebrated winning two top accolades last night at the annual PPA Awards. The PPA Awards are the most coveted in the magazine publishing industry, acknowledging both excellence and innovation. They provide the benchmark by which UK publishing judges itself. TES Connect (www.tesconnect.com) was recognised as Digital Product of the Year (Business Media).
This is the third year in a row that the site has been awarded Digital Product of the Year, a hatrick for TES Connect. And the Times Educational Supplement magazine won Business Magazine of the Year. This follows a major revamp in 2011 which saw it move from a newspaper to a magazine format.
The judges said that: “TES (www.tesconnect.com) is an impressive all-round package, with a wide variety of innovative applications addressing and serving their markets, and boasting an impressive engagement with its users.”
“This was an exceptional year for an exceptional publication."
“It’s fantastic to see such an innovative editorial product doing so well commercially, both in digital and in print.”
The awards capped off a hugely successful month for TSL Education. TES Connect signed up its 2m global member covering 197 countries. And on Tuesday, the company (alongside the American Federation of Teachers) unveiled its “Share My Lesson” website. This new site is expected to become the largest online community for U.S. teachers to collaborate and share teaching resources and innovative ideas.
Louise Rogers, CEO, TSL Education, says: “Last night’s awards are a tremendous success for TES and TSL Education as a company. This week has seen a series of remarkable achievements for us at the cutting edge of our industry. I am so proud of all of our team who have helped achieve this through hard work, determination and drive.”
