data collection presentation post assessment statistics geography maths independent

data collection presentation post assessment statistics geography maths independent

A worksheet to use with pupils post assessment. Students firstly create a percentage from their test score. They then collect data from their peers and fill in the table. Once completed, they order the data and calculate the mean & median. They then plot the data as a stack graph or double bar graph (boys & girls). To finish, they complete the target setting sheet. Data can be analysed once all elements have been done. Can be used with all year groups, but works well for KS3.

A booklet that allows pupils to practice a wide and varied number of skills on school grounds. It supports pupils in the development of key skills needed for GCSE geographical success. e.g. grid references, mapping, location, data presentation, data evaluation, questionnaires, methods and explaining. Pupils use the booklet as a step by step guide to work through tasks, after collection of data on the school grounds. Simple hypotheses are included along with the opportunity for conclusions. It will require the changing of the Google earth image of the school, with your own. This takes roughly half a term for year 7.

Green Pen and reflective tasks to help the students progress alongside engaging topics and lot of high level vocab. All tasks scaffolded and ppts have teacher instructions and samples. Extension tasks with every lesson. Please review if you download! Thanks :)

Russia 2018 GDP vs FIFA Rank

Russia 2018 GDP vs FIFA Rank

A lesson that looks at development measures like GDP, and examines the link between a countries wealth (GDP) vs its FIFA rank. I have used the latest figures to generate a scattergraph. You can print of the data and get pupils to plot the data. They should try to make a hypothesis before they complete the graph, then examine the results. A good way to look at many aspects of geography, development and sport.

SEN friendly carousel featuring 4 different habitats of CHINA. Fully DIFFERENTIATED.

SEN friendly carousel featuring 4 different habitats of CHINA. Fully DIFFERENTIATED.

Students consistently enjoy this lesson and enjoy learning about the unique animals and plants of each region. Depending on the class, this carousel could last 1-2 lessons and involves each student travelling to different habitats and completing a range of diverse and engaging tasks indepedently. You will need to set up the classroom into 4 large tables which can seat 1/4 of the class. I usually blue tack the sheets to the desks and surrounding walls and double print so that everyone can choose which tasks they’d like to complete at each station. Lots of potential for PA of answers and I usually put this work on display and talk through the IUCN red list/show them videos of the animals in China.

Y3/4 Polar Environments - Locate the Coldest Places and Compare to Others

This is a Y3/4 topic (geography) lesson on polar environments. The lesson teaches pupils how we measure temperature, how the celcius scale works and what temperatures you would typically expect to record in given scenarios. If your school has access to a class set of thermometers, you could add an extra section where pupils measure temperatures around the classroom/school premises. The main activity involves researching the winter and summer average highs/lows in different parts of the world, including one location each in the Arctic and Antarctic. It is intended that pupils work in mixed ability pairs and they will need an ipad and an atlas in each pair.
