English Football Premier League Manager - Spreadsheets activity

The Football League Manager is an exciting and real life resource to assess your students' knowledge of spreadsheets from Level 4 - Level 7 at more able year 8 and average year 9 standard. There are 20 questions and students need to answer these by manipulating the current premiership league table which is included in full, using formulas, functions and sorts. Each question is levelled according to National Curriculum criteria, getting gradually harder and requiring students to demonstrate knowledge of basic formatting, Formulas, Functions, SUM, Sorting and Filtering data, Conditional formatting, CountIF, referencing other sheets, Conditional IF statements and finally adding charts to represent data at Level 7 standard. There are two files within this resource, the first is a completed example to be used to model to students before the assessment and the second file is an answer sheet for students to work through themselves and complete. This resource is a more interesting way to conduct formative or summative assessment for year 8s and 9s and as is predominantly aimed at football fans. It also uses real life premiership data collected on the 5th December 2015.
