Jumbo Database Collection

1. Digital Word Search to help increase technical vocabulary. 2. A Digital Crossword to consolidate understanding of Database Design Concepts. All materials allow for differentiated learning and include the following: handouts in pdf & png format with a set of clues in txt & pdf format interactive quizzes timed and non-timed (run index file in a *browser) Set of answers in pdf format *(Please note that Safari and Microsoft Edge could not display interactive quizzes when tested) 3. Database Dominoes Activity: Printable PDF (answers shown in PDF last item marries up with the first item). Photocopy/print dominoes to make as many sets as necessary. This activity works well in small groups and encourages teamwork. A time limit can be added to make this activity more competitive between teams. 4. A 5-minute digital timer is also included with this resource 5. Digital Graded Assessment: A mixture of short answers, fill in the blanks, multiple choice, Yes/No, matching & hot spot. 10 questions; the pass mark is 80%. Learners only get 1 attempt but have the opportunity to review their answers. 6. DPA: This resource contains a brief overview of the Data Protection Act and a quiz. This is an interactive resource which can be completed by individual learners on a computer. There are 2 versions of this resource: • Quiz showing learner progress as they move through each question • No progress, just overall score at the end of the quiz Both versions allow the user only 1 attempt but gives them the chance to review all answers. There is also a link to further reading on this piece of legislation. Note: Digital games do not seem to work well in Opera browser. All digital resources are available in swf, pdf and HTML versions. Important: Do not separate any of the original digital files from the original folders, just run them inside the folders for the games/quizzes to work properly. You can also drag the index.html file into the browser to play.

Create your own tour of the architectural landmarks in Philadelphia! Students learn more about famous structures and landmarks in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the individuals who created them as they research and then create a tour using Google Tour Builder to showcase their information along with pictures, videos and maps. Included with the lesson are student expectations, grading rubric and a tutorial for Google Tour Builder (a free, Web 2.0 tool that does not require download). For classrooms with limited technology, this lesson can be completed with students working in pairs or small groups. The completed presentations can be shared with the rest of the class if the teacher chooses. This is a great activity for a social studies or history class, or for a technology class. This lesson was designed for middle school (grades 6-8) but could be used in upper elementary grades or high school as well. The Art of Georgia O'Keeffe - WebQuest / Internet Scavenger Hunt & Technology Art Activity

In this lesson, students learn fun facts about Georgia O’Keeffe and her art as they complete a WebQuest (Internet Scavenger Hunt) to answer questions about the topic. Then, they use that knowledge to create an art project of their own, using O’Keeffe’s style, in Microsoft Paint, 3D Paint, or one of these free Web 2.0 tools: SketchPad (https://sketch.io/sketchpad/) or SumoPaint (https://www.sumopaint.com/home/#app) that do not require download. A complete answer key is provided for the WebQuest for easy grading, along with resources for both teachers and students. The student questions are included in both a print version and a digital (editable) version to make it easy for students to complete the lesson digitally or on paper. Also included are tutorial links to assist students with the software for the art project. This lesson was designed for middle school (grades 6-8) but could be used in upper elementary as well.
