Algebra: Inequalities 4 - Shading Regions - Linear Graphs ( + superb worksheets)

Algebra: Inequalities 4 - Shading Regions - Linear Graphs ( + superb worksheets)

This is one of my favourite PowerPoints going through the very interesting topic of shading regions or showing inequalities in graph form. This is the second of 2 whole lessons!! The first lesson introduces the topic and looks at parallel lines and lines in the form x + y = ... the second lesson looks at "normal" linear graphs, which is much more challenging and tends to be only a higher topic. It comes with 5 worksheets for different ability classes and to help you differentiate for different ability students within your class. It also importantly comes with answers and blank graph sheets. This PPT contains lots of different examples with lots of custom animation, so it is very clear to help you teach this visual topic. This PowerPoint has been very effective at teaching this topic. Year 12 A level Mathematics Interim Assessment 2

Year 12 A level Mathematics Interim Assessment 2

This is the second interim assessment which can be given to any class embarking on the new a level spec from 2017 with the Edexcel board. It covers the topics of surds, completing the square and its uses, sketching quadratic curves, linear and quadratic inequalities, algebraic division, factor theorem and sketching a straight line. The assessment itself will last an hour and there is a follow up lesson where students can tackle similar questions. The powerpoint acts as a marck scheme and can be used to assess the piece of work. It can also be played during the feedback lesson to model correct answers for students. Printing it will give students a chance to have a model solution pack to their assessment.
