GREETINGS AND PERSONAL INFORMATION IN FRENCH

GREETINGS AND PERSONAL INFORMATION IN FRENCH

This is a comprehensive and interactive PPT with 42 slides on greetings and personal information. The first part goes through the various ways of greetings, both formal and informal. The second part looks at how to ask and respond to a range of personal information: name, age, phone number, date of birth, where I live and come from, nationality, job, where you work. It is followed by some practice and a who's who game with pictures of famous people. It is suitable for KS3 students but I also found it very useful for KS4 students in preparation for the role-plays, as they often forget how to ask and respond properly to basic questions.

KS2 Taster Lesson (French)

KS2 Taster Lesson (French)

This is a taster lesson for KS2 pupils in French. It follows the theme of food technology (making croissants) but also covers a little general knowledge as a starter activity, culture and numeracy. It may seem slightly complicated but the language (following a recipe) is really repetitive so pupils will be able to grasp it. I used this over a period of an hour and had French handwriting sheets on standby just in case pupils finished early and wanted to practise writing out the recipe in that particular style, just to add a little extra something to their experience. Lots of pupils wanted to take the handwriting sheets home to write out the recipe in their own time. This was used with Y5 pupils from inner city schools at a mixed, comprehensive secondary school. It took a long time to make so please, enjoy!

Fun Giant Crosswords BUNDLE

Fun Giant Crosswords BUNDLE

3 fun giant quiz crosswords puzzles to use throughout the year. These work especially well for completion by groups, with pupils working together, pooling their knowledge and enjoying the challenge of trying to finish before other groups. Printing in A3 is ideal but if you can only do A4, this works fine too. These crosswords were originally designed for Upper Key Stage 2 but will also suit some lower KS2 classes as well as some early KS3 classes. You could use these as Back to School / Start of Year activities with your new class in the first week back, at the start or end of any terms, for special events during the year or for early finisher activities. There's a Children's Book Crossword that would suit World Book Day or some other celebration of reading and authors. The Roald Dahl Crossword could also be used for World Book Day, on Roald Dahl Day or after a focus on this writer. There's also a Basic French Revision Crossword that works especially well at the beginning or end of the year to revise key vocabulary on greetings and introductions, numbers, dates, weather, colours, classroom objects etc. Solutions for all crosswords are included as are Answer Sheets, which contain the answers listed in alphabetical order. These can be given out for support where needed or just provided at the end for pupils to complete any part of the puzzle they are stuck on. Alternatively pupils could research missing answers. If you want two or all three of these crosswords, this bundle offers the best value. However, if you would only like one, you can get it individually by clicking on the relevant resource. You can also do this to find out more detailed information and see previews for them. The French Crossword is also available as part of some of my great value French resource bundles - click on the French Crossword and follow the links to see more about the bundles. I hope your pupils enjoy using these and I would be grateful for any reviews you can leave here on TES. Many thanks. French Numbers Bingo Game

French Numbers Bingo Game

A well-differentiated bingo /lotto game pack for children to have fun consolidating French numbers (les nombres / les numeros) with both simple number match and mental maths versions included. There are 2 sets of 6 boards for each of 0-40 and 0-100 – one set features the French number word, the other less challenging version features digits. Print and laminate as required. Both the 0-40 and 0-100 games also have two sets of bingo cards each – print page 1 to 3 if you want pupils to have mental maths calculations to match to the numbers on their boards. Alternatively print page 4-6 if you want French number words to match to the digit boards. For a medium level of challenge you could have groups using the digit boards with the mental maths calculation cards. Therefore this should suit a range of ages, abilities and French experience from Key Stage / KS2 (and equivalents) upwards. I hope this saves you some time. I would be grateful for a review if you can spare a moment. Many thanks.
