Sheets can be complied into a booklet to created a scaffold-ed resource to be used throughout the lesson. PowerPoint creates opportunities for AfL through the use of MWB. Clue! Systems of Equations - Graphing, Substitution, Linear Combination, Word Problems

This is a 4 clue practice based off the popular board game. Students will work through 4 clues to find the suspect, an accomplice, weapon and location. Students will use knowledge of solving systems of linear functions using three methods; substitution, linear combination (or addition) and graphing. Students will also use linear combination to solve four word problems. Students are given a cipher to turn their number answers into letters. Cut out both circles and spin the numbers to match the appropriate letter. Students are also provided a score sheet, just like the game, so they can mark off their final answer. Have them turn in their answers and work to see if they've found all the right information! Answer key included!

KS 2 MATHS REASONING BOOKLET - WINTER WONDERLAND THEME

WINTER WONDERLAND – REASONING KS 2 is a festive book full of thought provoking maths questions. The booklet has been designed for pupils to ‘solve problems by applying their mathematics to a variety of routine and non-routine problems’ with a festive theme. They are encouraged to ‘break down problems into a series of simpler steps’ in order to seek solutions. The Christmas theme inspires pupils to use what they know to solve everyday problems. To answer these questions, pupils will need to demonstrate flexibility in problem-solving and good levels of numeracy. Occasionally, pupils are encouraged to show methods of working, this supports their thinking and helps teachers understand their pupils thought process. Specifically, to understand if they can; define the question, translate it to mathematical formulation, complete the calculation, then provide an answer to the original question. This booklet can be given as a ‘whole’ for a full lesson of independent work, or individual pages can be given, as ‘introductions’ or as speedy ‘time-fillers’. It would also be useful as Homework.

This booklet has 58 questions on inequalities and is a very useful resource for students to practise this topic for the GCSE examination. It starts with easy questions and they gradually increase in difficulty level. There are some unusual inequalities, which may prove to be useful for the new (9-1) GCSE examinations. Also included are questions where students need to shade in regions given a few inequalities, and also the other way around where a region is given and students need to find the inequalities that define the shaded region. The last three questions are applications touching on linear programming. Students will need at least four hours to complete all the questions in this booklet. This resource comes with worked answers and is therefore great for independent revision either in class or at home.
