Toys Through Time Assembly

Toys Through Time Assembly

Outstanding History and PSHE ‘Toys through Time’ Assembly - full script. ‘Toys through Time’ is one of a series of outstanding assemblies created for the primary classroom, which includes full script, songs and prayers with a part for every child. This assembly is ready to go! ‘Toys through Time’ links with both the History curriculum and the PSHE curriculum, with a theme that is rooted in upstanding values and is relevant to the children’s everyday lives and interests. This assembly teaches that sharing, fair-play and fun with friends never goes out of fashion, with a whistle-stop tour of toys through the ages. From ragdolls and the birth of Mickey Mouse to video games and Frozen, the message is clear; share, care and play fair. There is a part for every child – whether acting, singing, dancing or leading a prayer - and a little audience participation thrown in! Plans created by an Ofsted Good/Outstanding classroom teacher – History and Drama co-ordinator – with over ten years of experience. These outstanding assemblies have consistently engaged and excited all 30 performers in class … and have even got the adults in the audience up on their feet!

All About Me Game, transition, new class

All About Me Game, transition, new class

A game I made for my small class of learners with autism. Suitable for any small group introduction - e.g. intervention group, speech and language, attention and listening. Learners throw a dice and move around the board. When they land on a question, they answer the question. I like to ask another member of the group a question relating to the answer, to encourage learners to pay attention to each other's answers - my children tend to have very little interest in each other! Supports social skills, attention and listening, turn taking. Used for specialist autism group but appropriate for any mainstream KS1 / KS2 group or older SEN group.
