3D Shape Memory

3D Shape Memory

MORE THAN JUST A MEMORY GAME!! Though this was created as a memory game, its cards can be used for so many other fun and educational activities, games and study aides. Print these pages out double-sided. This will make the page containing a colorful design the cover, or top, of the cards. Laminate the printed sheets to make for more durable playing cards (printing with card stock can also help with durability). Cut the cards along the black line. Once cut, mix the cards up, lay them out, and take turns flipping cards over. Kids will be exercising their memory, learning, and having fun while doing so! :)

Assessment in Mathematics for Year 2 teachers

Assessment in Mathematics for Year 2 teachers

This book provides Year 2 teachers with key information regarding the difference between the national curriculum and the interim assessment framework. It contains grids to support moderation and planning and activities for the three different standards that teachers must use at the end of key stage 1 for teacher assessment. The book is written in eight sections providing Year 2 teachers with: key information about the differences between the national curriculum and the interim assessment framework a set of activities that meet the aims of the national curriculum that complement those in the national exemplification materials a range of games, skill activities, problem solving and reasoning activities short assessment activities with ideas for number of the week and word of the week signposts to websites and other useful resources templates and resources for the activities and most importantly the answers In section 1 teachers will find two strand curriculum mapping documents, one for Year 1 / 2 and one for Year 2 / 3. These documents map a teaching sequence for the curriculum including the interim framework. In addition to this you will find three highlighted Year 2 Age Related Grids. The purpose of these are to clearly show the difference between the curriculum and the interim framework at the three standards - working towards the expected standard (WT), working at the expected standard (EXS) and working at greater depth (GDS) and can be used by schools for both their own internal and external moderation. Sections 2, 3 and 4 offer teachers a set of activities that meet the aims of the national curriculum. The activities complement those in the national exemplification, providing teachers with additional evidence that can be used to support assessment against the interim framework. In this section teachers will find a range of games, skill activities as well as problem solving and reasoning activities. Section 5 provides ideas for number of the week and word of the week. These short assessment activities cover a range of the framework statements and can be used at any point in the year as well as for revision. Section 6 offers signposts to websites and other useful resources. Section 7 and 8 contain answers to tasks and templates and resources for the activities and games in the book. The activities in this book have been trialled with several different groups of year 2 teachers across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire.

Volume of 3D solids - Coded Message

Volume of 3D solids - Coded Message

Calculate volumes varying from cubes, through cuboids, prisms, pyramids to spheres. Match the question to the answers to decode the message which is a very corny (and clean) joke. Students may need to be given some formuale depending on ability. I would be interested in feedback…should I produce one with all cuboids and cubes? Bespoke messages by request…e-mail me. Original file replaced…I think it had an error…oops!

Year 2 Spring Block 3 Properties of Shape White Rose Maths whole unit

Year 2 Spring Block 3 Properties of Shape White Rose Maths whole unit

This is a whole unit of work following the White Rose Mastery small steps planning for Spring block 3 which is Properties of Shape. The unit comprises of 12 fully planned lessons. The plan is detailed, (as I plan for my job share too!) and will guide you through the unit, along with the flipchart. This has been created using ActivInspire. I think you can download a few viewer of this or may be able to import it or convert it to your whiteboard software. If not, I have also included it as a PDF. I have also included all of the worksheets and activities. Most are differentiated 2 or 3 ways and most lessons also have a greater depth challenge for the children to complete as an extension. The worksheets have been created using our school cursive font - however these are included as a word document if you wish to change this - or as a PDF, if not. Each worksheet/activity is clearly labeled with the lesson number it is for and which ability group it is intended for. Some of the worksheets are in a separate document because they are landscape orientation.
