Media Project scheme of work

This is a 5 week scheme of work ending in APP on Media. The work is creating a charity advert using video cameras and Apple Macs to complete. It is 15 lessons worth of media exposure and i have used this succesfully with a year 9 group. You can pick your own APP resource to use. The paper adverts are not attached but you can pick them up from anywhere.

Many children and young people will be familiar with the idea of producing a short video or animation and publishing it on video upload sites such as YouTube. However, because these sites are un-moderated many teachers are uncomfortable with directing learners to these sites as they may contain inappropriate content. E2BN Clips proves learners with the opportunity to publish to a world-wide audience but gives teachers the security of knowing that all of materials have been check for ‘appropriateness’.

This programme is designed for use by English and Media Studies teachers with students. The advert and the soap are separately analysed by key professionals involved in their actual production. They explain in some detail how and why key decisions were taken behind the scenes in terms of cast, script, music and shots.
