These centers are simple to set up, and engaging for students. 144 pages with 2 cards per page gives you over 250 short vowel words for students to practice decoding! Easy to Use! Just print 1 copy on cardstock for durability, cut and fold. Place in your literacy center for students to use. When in the center, students will choose a card, try to read the word, and then lift the flap to see a picture of the word’s meaning. Supports student reading independence! The photos on each card make checking their own reading easy and fun. Year after year this is one of my students’ favorite centers. Independent Reading Digital Task Cards: Reader’s Response Activities for ANY Book or Novel

This teaching resource includes 30 Independent Reading Task Cards and Reader’s Response Activities for Google Drive! The Reading Task Cards can be used to analyze ANY book or novel. Students will type their responses to the Reading Task Card prompts by typing directly into the pre-inserted text boxes using Google Slides or Microsoft Power Point. Ample room on each Google Slide Task Card has been provided in order for students to fully respond to the question or prompt. This is a no-prep way for teachers to assess students when they choose independent reading books, and they ALL have different novels! Microsoft OneDrive users can also easily download the Task Cards as a power point file in order to allow students to access use. A task card response sheet has been provided for teachers who prefer a printing option. Teachers can also follow the guidelines to print the task cards in order to use them in centers or in collaborative groups instead of the digital version. The 30 Reading Task Cards have a modern design, bright borders, and picture high-interest and icons that will heighten the visual interest of your student and will enable them to make connections to the task cards’ topics and prompts. The prompts and questions allow for differentiation with students. Students will enjoy the appeal of the task cards that use emoticons and hashtags. This resource is a non-fiction comprehension activity for lower key stage 2, perfect for using in the run up to Christmas. There are three differentiated fact sheets on Christmas in Europe, with differentiated questions. It is based on a mixture of the KS1 and KS2 SATs reading papers. There are a range of 'what, ' 'how' and 'why' questions, some multiple choice tick questions and some that require more detailed answers.
