German Vocab on Memrise

German Vocab on Memrise

I have put a lot of German vocab on www.memrisec.com and am happy to share. If you haven't used it yet, it is a great (and free) vocab learning website. Let me know if you spot mistakes as only I can edit the sets on memrise. Join my group and start learning to share with your groups. To make it easier to learn I have taken out most plurals, multiple translations and slashes. Includes full vocab for : Stimmt 1, Stimmt AQA GCSE (red and green), Hodder AQA AS and A2 Level (from vocab sheets included in online package which is longer than the end of chapter vocab lists)

Die Umwelt & Obdachlos

Die Umwelt & Obdachlos

End of topic fun activity sheet based on Echo 3 Rot - one worksheet with a word-search, crossword, jumbled words and "how many can you find" picture. I tend to use it either as part of a carousel or during speaking assessment lessons.

Guided writing - Booklet for "Café in Berlin"

Guided writing - Booklet for "Café in Berlin"

This is a booklet I made for my Year 11 students to independently work with the book "Café in Berlin" at home. THe book can be bought at amazon and contains very entertaining and authentic short stories, written from the perspective of a Sicilian young man who recently moved to Germany and try to learn German. My students loved the stories and asked me to buy more of those books. The students will read the stories (one at a time) and use the booklet to write short personalised texts using the guided questions. Before writing, the students will answer the comprehension questions that come with each story in the book and they will write down a "vocabulary TOP 10" of interesting, important or new words. This booklet can be adapted to any of your needs. The guided questions can also be used as discussion questions in class after reading. I printed the file as a booklet and cut off the the bottom part of the pages to make the booklet smaller to fit into the exercise books. This is why the bottom parts are white. But you can change the layout as you wish ... add pictures or more lines for the writing parts, etc.
