#### Deal or No Deal Probability Game

I created this as a transition activity for year 6. During the 30min session we discussed probabilities in terms of likely & Unlikely and moved on to probabilities using fractions. Included: PowerPoint for removing the revealed values Box template for printing on red card I have made the boxes deliberately complex so they are sturdy enough to be used more than once. For the values that get revealed I laminated them so that hey could be fixed with blu-tac so that they could be moved around to keep the game fresh. Alternatively you could print out a box image on a piece of card with the money printed on the other side.

Some of the maths topics covered include: statistics, percentages, charts and graphs, data handling, averages, ratios, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, estimation and problem solving, critical thinking, and fractions. Some of the specific tasks involved include: working out the goals to games ratio of some of the best strikers, finding out which teams have the best goal difference, creating data to present performance, and comparing player statistics over different tournaments. There are 30 tasks in total, in which each the major World Cup nations are focused upon in at least one activity each. The tasks are also separated by difficulty into ‘Beginner’,‘Intermediate’, and ‘Difficult’ tasks (refer to the B, I, or D symbols in the top left of each activity). #### Venn Diagrams

This was delivered to a low ability year 10 class. It is quite basic and missing some of the more complicated concepts dealing with Venn diagrams. There are some generic questions contained within the slides. Slides 1-7 were seen on lesson 1 and then I gave the class examples of this type. Slides 8-18 were seen in lesson 2 (after recapping the previous slides) and further examples of this type were given to the class. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as this is my first resource I have uploaded.

#### Interactive, Engaging Car Activity including Fractions, Decimals, Percentages and Probability,

This is an engaging, and interactive 5 slide Powerpoint presentation which I made involving cars moving across a cartoon screen. You choose the slide you would like to test the students on and click ‘from current slide’, once the slideshow is full screen and the children are ready to view the animation you press the right arrow key and a ‘go’ symbol will drop from the top of the screen demonstrating the begininning of the process. Various cars will move from left to right, and right to left of the screen, with the aim for students to answer 5 questions such as: What is the sum of all the wheels in this animation? What is the difference in the number of cars going from left to right, in comparison to the cars going right to left What fraction of cars are yellow? What is the ratio of yellow, green and pink cars? What percentage of the cars are orange? To more challenging questions such as: If 10% of wheels get punctured during a journey, what is the expected numbers of wheels to get punctured in this animation? What is the expected probability of the car going from left to the right of the screen? If a customer wants to choose one of these cars at random what is the probability that the car is yellow, give as a fraction? What is the probability of a customer picking a yellow or a pink car, given as a percentage ? What’s the probability of a customer picking an orange car? The cars vary in colour, and starting time, which means the questions can be varied. Easy to edit the questions for yourself. If you found this resource useful please review. If you want more information see video!
