Two variations of the games have been included for differentiated learning. One with the same images of the corresponding currency on the cards and the other with different images of the same amount for a harder game. The Australian Money Loop game includes images of Australian currency for students to learn to sight the notes and coins quickly and easily. Simply print, laminate, cut and reuse.

This is a collection of 8 different resources and approximately 60 different Excel tabs. I use these as a premise for my starters with a mix of abilities from year 7-9. Each worksheet is differentiated, so you can give students varying sheets, or request they work from varying sections of the interactive whiteboard, whilst still providing them with the same answers. They foster a calm start to the lesson, and students always seem excited to learn when the lesson is started in this manner. The addition pyramids contain a self-check tool, so children can usefully self mark. The multiplication grid generator, includes an exciting ‘challenge’ sheet in which students have to work backwards to work out the row and column headers (using similiar skills to Sudoku). In addition to this the Cross number, and the times table grid excitingly contain a magic number extension. This involves students having to collate their answers, i.e. summing certain values, to obtain a magic numbers and perhaps win a small prize (sticker, or sweet, or just simple praise). This is a bundle of 6 of my resources regarding angles! 5 documents are generators, which means at the click of any button you are able to generate a new worksheet. This provides a calm atmosphere in learning, familiarity in resources for students and can demonstrate progress over time. 3 of these documents are worksheet generators, which require students to find angles within polygons by viewing the polygons themselves. The easiest worksheet just regards triangles and straight lines. The medium worksheet involves quadrilaterals, simple algebra, and straight lines. Whereas the last worksheet involves a multitude of polygons. Each come with a supporting tab call a ‘cheat sheet’, containing an answer for every question listed on a separate bit of paper. These can be individually cut up and folded along the dotted line to act as supporting answers, You can use thesse at your discretion to support the least able, enabling these worksheets to be low access high challenge. Furthermore, another of these documents also requires you to find missing angles and lengths within various polygons by using algebra. Helpfully there is are hints which can either be included, or not included on the sheet, as they are on the sheet’s extremities so can easily can be cut off. Another worksheet regards angles, but this time they are entirely worded question. Testing students knowledge on exterior angles as well as interior angles this time. Finally the last document is a powerpoint involving 5 videos of me hand drawing different circle theorems. Each of the videos are silent but supported by questioning on the screen. This has proved to be a very useful tool in maximising student engagement, and getting the students to come up with the questions and answers themselves whilst watching the video, whilst you are able to help individuals or manage behaviour as required. Each of the videos, has futher suggestion points, and each can be paused and resumed at a pace that suits your class. Please review if you found useful :)

Therefore, this is great as a settler activity over a number of lessons, as it’s general structure stays the same whilst the numbers change for each worksheet. Also, it can show progress over time, as students should get quicker and become more confident at answering these questions.

Maths SATs Year 6 KS2 Arithmetic Revision Quiz

Use this with a small group or a whole class to revise some of the basic skills on the KS2 SATs Maths Paper 1: Arithmetic. It is designed to be a quiz quick that more able pupils should be able to do in their heads and less able pupils should be able to do in a reasonable amount of time on a whiteboard. The questions are in a fairly random order, although I have often made 3 or 4 consecutive questions follow the same topic so the children get a chance to practise and get into a topic before the next topic comes along. I have also subtly colour-coded the questions so the teacher can instantly see the level of difficulty: 3 shades of blue, with the lightest representing easier questions and the darker shade representing the hardest questions. (This shading is just a rough idea - you may disagree with paritcular questions and want to change the shade! Also note that the shading is relative within the topic: the hardest of the x1000 questions is still much easier than finding 87% of a number!) This resource could be used so flexibly as a gap-filler e.g. when you’ve got a spare few minutes at the end of the day or before assembly, as a lesson where you can try questions and then discuss mental methods across the class, or as a competitive quiz with teams or individuals, buzzer rounds and speed rounds. It can be saved for year after year too! There are approx 200 questions covering the following topics: adding and subtracting TU and TU: 26 + 63 and 53 – 21 adding on a multiple of 10, 100 and 1000: 3852 + 20 and 4284 + 3000 multiplying multiples of 10, 100 and 1000: 30 x 400 dividing multiples of 10, 100 and 1000: 450 ÷ 9 adding and subtracting decimals: 1 – 0.43 and 2 + 0.67 adding and subtracting 99 x ÷ 10 100 1000 x ÷ fractions % of numbers fractions of numbers 32 + 10 BODMAS Answers included on a separate powerpoint.
