Bounds Spiders

Bounds Spiders

Four "spiders" to practise bounds. Starting simple, moving on to rounding to the nearest centimetre then significant figures. This does nothing special but will hopefully make students think and encourage discussion about bounds.

Target 100

Target 100

Resource was inspired by @mrbartonmaths and @danicquinn Skills and drills generator including: rounding/halving/doubling, negatives, 1-step equations, squares/triangular numbers/cubes/factors/multiple/primes/sequences, number bonds, fraction skills, multiply/divide by powers of 10/remainders when dividing/divisibility, HCF/LCM/sum-product/reciprocals/ratio division. Aim is for students to get regular practice and improve their speed / confidence. Target 100 generally has 5 sections of 20Q so the idea is to get 100 in the time available - for example allow 1 minute per section. Numbers randomly generated. Answers provided.

Quiz - Order of Operations BIDMAS / BODMAS - 2 Team Challenge

Quiz - Order of Operations BIDMAS / BODMAS - 2 Team Challenge

This is a 10 question quiz and 1 tie breaker question. The questions are all based around order of operations (BIDMAS / BODMAS) and start simple with no brackets, then with brackets and then insert the brackets. Every slide has two questions on, one for team 1 and another for team 2. Each question has 3 possible answers. Click the answer the team has chosen for it to highlight green if correct or red if incorrect. This allows you to open the question up to the other team to steal the point if you wish. I've design it so both teams have similar questions with different numbers at the same time to help prevent any students from being sat there not doing anything. I often ask all students to write their answer for their teams question on a whiteboard and take the majority answer from the team. This again means every student is participating. Each slide also has a star timer at the top. Each star represents 10 seconds and they gradually disappear. I hope you enjoy the quiz Miss B
