Changing gender

Here is a resource that I have adapted from 20minutos.com. It is suitable for a good Year 12 class or a Year 13 class and could also be used for revision. The resource is a short text about the number of people who have changed their gender in Spain since 2012 and I have included some follow up exercises to enable the class to access the text and then write about their own opinions on this issue.

Our Y9 SOW has a module on Global issues/citizenship. I remember I had some wants and needs cards which I used in PSHE once. The resources are cards for students to sort (wants and needs) and a powerpoint to accompany. I have used this with my lower set (none of whom are continuing with Spanish). Any feedback or comments on how I've translated some of the concepts would be helpful.

A video clip from Antena 3 noticias. In this exercise I would delete the questions from the work sheet and allow students to write the questions. Once they are happy that the questions and answers match, they can translate the questions into Spanish. Another way to differentiate this task would be to give the students multiple choice answers.
