This resource is a profile/passport for students who are visually impaired. Included is a framework for making your own passport/profile and a picture guide that could be shared with staff working with students who are visually impaired. This resource would be useful for Qualified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (QTVI) and/or a SENCO.

Joint action routine - hello - greeting

A joint action routine outlining the steps needed to develop more intentional communication through imitation, consistency and repetition. To be used with MSI / pre-verbal children. A personal identifier is recommended. Signs can be added for children who can copy gesture or be scaffolded to do this. Can be printed and laminated for pocket in wheelchair to encourage multiple repetitions and encourage consistency.

Making a Pizza - Life Skills - Visual Recipes and supplementary resources.

Making a Pizza: This resource has a notebook and a worksheet. The notebook is designed for the students to use it as a visual sequence when cooking. They have all the ingredients and utensils needed and then an easy to follow recipe. There are 2 visual recipes for different levels of ability. It has an inbuilt shopping activity so that the cooking can be integrated into a shopping program. Within the shopping part which encourages literacy skills, students can choose what they will buy and then make their own shopping list by either writing it or sticking the associated visual onto their shopping list. There are also some integrated literacy skills to match the ingredients as well as some writing sheets. There is a pairs game to reinforce the learning. It was created for students with special needs (SEN) for teaching life skills but can be used as a valuable resource for early years literacy. I have created a UK version of the activity and worksheets as in Australia (Down under) we call Green peppers = Capsicums
