I have uploaded 3 sets of Alphabet posters to be laminated and displayed in your classroom. There are 3 different frames to choose from. You can use one set to teach with and one set to display. Homework Alphabet Sheets: Also in the pack is a set of Alphabet sheets in the same format for children to take home whenever you are working on a particular letter of the alphabet. Activities include: Trace inside letters, colour in and add more pictures around the frame of the sheet. For example, on the Bb sheet, children can draw a beach, a butterfly, a bucket etc. Make some suggestions to the children before they take the sheet home. This presentation pack comprises 5 PowerPoint Presentations. Aim: To develop children's knowledge of the alphabet (upper/lower case letters). A very useful resource which can be used in a variety of ways. It will save you a lot of preparation time. Just choose a presentation and play. The 5 presentations all include animation in Slide View. They can be used as lesson starters, standalone lessons or as a plenary. The Teacher's Notes describes all the presentations and the interactive activity using the superhero picture to link pictures to words. Children recite the alphabet as they appear in alphabetical order: - with letters, pictures and words - capitals letters only - lower case letters only - a mix of lower and upper case letters (children name the letters as they appear) - alphabet pictures (a-z) with each picture linked to Slide 28 that contains a table of words listing each picture on the slides. This educational material relates to learning the alphabet. Aimed at: Reception/Year 1/ESL & EFL Learning objectives are to develop children's knowledge of upper and lower letters of the alphabet and begin to learn alphabetical order. Contents: - Flexible detailed Lesson Plan includes lesson starter, main lesson and whole class activities and plenary. - Colourful PowerPoint Presentation on the alphabet (letters float in as you click through the slides) - Upper and lower case alphabet flash cards - Editable flash cards - Washing line alphabet activity - Gap-filling alphabet strips (upper and lower case letters) - Blank alphabet strips - Upper and lower case letters to be cut out for extra activities Children are introduced to capital/upper and lower case letters, recite the alphabet, to know that the capital A and the lower case a have the same sound. Briefly: Washing line activity - questions marks are placed where there should be either a capital letter or a lower case letter. Children are given a selection of laminated letters and have to decide whether the letter they have should go where the question mark is. Reinforcement of what the children have learnt: There are a selection of gap-fill strips from easier to challenging. - Cut out the gap-filling alphabet strips and stick into workbooks; and/or - Laminate for continuous use The lesson plan is flexible in that you can refer to it each time you teach a letter. - There are 26 upper and lower letters for the children to cut out each time you focus on a letter.
