This is a Year 6 Assessment Task for the end of an electrical unit. Utilising the Design, Make and Appraise process, the task instructs students to design and create an electrical toy that your buddy class can use. The electrical toy must have an energy transformation and a switch.

Achievement Standard/s:

Science

Students identify the role of circuit components in the transfer and transformation of electrical energy. (S1)
They describe how individuals and communities use scientific knowledge. (S2)
Design and Technologies

Students create designed solutions. (D1)
Students select and justify design ideas and solutions against design criteria that include sustainability. (D2)
Students communicate design ideas to an audience using technical terms and graphical representation techniques. (D3)
Students develop project plans, including production processes, and select technologies and techniques to safely produce designed solutions. (D4)
