Addition And Subtraction Move Forward, Move Back
Are you practicing beginning addition and subtraction in your class? Move Forward, Move Back is a game to explore plus and minus. Here are 3 game boards to reinforce this concept. Set out a new board each week and it is like playing a new math game because the graphics are different, but the skill is the same. Help the frog get to the lily pad, the bee get to the hive and the monkey swing through the jungle.

Materials needed for each game: Two cubes, one is a die and one has four sides, marked with a + symbol on four sides and minus symbol on two sides. (I have also included number cubes 0-4 with and without matching graphics if you would rather use that than a die.) Game tokens.

Skill: Explore addition and subtraction.
Object of the Game: To reach the end.
Directions: Players take turns rolling both cubes and moving ahead (+) or back (-) the correct number of spaces.
