Character Tableaux
Activity looking at characters' motives. Matt Posner: This activity is for The Crucible. It takes a little staring at to figure out how to use it. Small grids are provided with a set of values at each end of the grid. Characters are supposed to be fit onto the grids using handwritten notes next to the grid. It's somewhat of a higher-order task. The task can be adapted to other texts, although the actual document might be difficult to edit. I mapped it for 11th grade because that's the grade I would teach The Crucible.
