Christmas Fun 'The Big Fat Christmas Quiz 2017' #2
This incredible resource has taken quite a while to produce and is probably one of the best designed quizzes for secondary and sixth form students that I have produced. It is in the form of a PowerPoint with 44 very well designed slides and a range of from easy to challenging diverse questions and tasks for all age groups.
Tasked by my students to produce a high quality, challenging and entertaining quiz with a large variety of questions and questioning methods, 'Big Fat Christmas quiz 2017 #1' was my first effort. The feedback was fantastic, students thought this was one one of the best resources I had produced. As a result of that and the enjoyment I had producing this resource... I have now produced another 'big fat' quiz and again the feedback has been brilliant. Now that I have tested on my students I am now sharing it with you.
In this quiz there are 4 rounds totaling 44 points. Their are instructions and a bespoke PDF answer sheet attached. Students can either be put in a group or complete by themselves. When I have done it it seems to work really well in a group.
Round 1 is 'the month challenge' - Students have to answer a general knowledge question about this year and for a double point guess which month it occured in.
Round 2 is 'guess the film round' - Students have to guess the 2017 film from a screen grab.
Round 3 is 'Identify the news story - Students have to identify the news story from a picture.
Round 4 is 'Christmas put in the correct order' - Students get given a top ten list of Christmas songs and have to try to put them in the correct order according to the question given.
This is a fantastic way to get students reflecting on what has happened in 2017. There are a range of questions so therefore some students will be challenged whilst all will find it accessible.
The quiz can be edited according to whether you may want to change it slightly depending on your age group.
