Extinction and fossils
The lessons objective is for pupils to further their understanding of how fossils are formed and the importance of fossils. The lesson also focuses on why animals become extinct. The lesson begins with a range of questions that they need to consider when focusing on their ready made fossil (pupils need to create a fossil the previous lesson). The lesson also involves a true and false movement activity, dash and draw activity and mini plenaries throughout. The lesson also focuses on pupils carrying out a zone of relevance activity relating to extinction, before, before, after, after activity and finishing on a 6 mark question. I have also attached writing frames to support learners. The dash and draw needs to be printed from the power point.
