## Line symmetry

Two worksheets about line symmetry that I have used with my year 3 class. Line symmetry - used with my top set, find lines of symmetry in the letters of the alphabet and use them to create symmetrical words. Draw on line symmetry - a selection of shapes that pupils could draw the lines of symmetry straight on the shapes or cut them out and fold to look for symmetry. Topcis also inlcuded: reflective symmetry.

In this animation featuring Star, Sky and Hutch, a cake and a butterfly are used to demonstrate symmetry, lines of symmetry and reflective symmetry using mirror images. A short symmetry of shapes test is then given to Hutch and Star. Pupils can take part alongside the animated characters to detect symmetrical and non-symmetrical shapes.
When first learning about symmetry and lines of symmetry this clip would be helpful as part of an introduction.

#### Math Revision - any topic - Information hunt, consolidation and application, its fun

Thank you for taking the time to view my premium resource. It is designed to provide you with a lesson in which pupil’s progress, the lessons follow a pathway; prepare for learning, lesson objectives, present new information, construct on that information, apply and demonstrate, review and consolidate.

This revision lesson can be applied to any subject and any topic which makes it so powerful. Because of this the teacher will have to prepare 9 information slides each with 3 pieces of information relating to the chosen topic. I have added a set of slides from halogen (chemistry) revision as a template. This took me 10 mins to produce and I am not a chemist.

This resource will provide you with a fantastic revision, which is fun for the pupils and an effective lesson that will save you that precious commodity – time

Lesson Overview
#### Hidden thinking skills poster: Team work, problem solving, discussion, 2D shapes

Teamwork exercise based around trying to recreate a hidden poster by working as a team.
This version has a 2D shape poster so could be used when learning about properties of shape - pupils must look at the poster one at a time then return and describe to the team what they have seen. (i.e. there is a red parallelogram in the top left hand corner etc...)
The same idea could be used for other topics - you just need another poster. Great for team work, ice breakers, discussion and lots of fun too!
